Sophomores excited about humanities fields have the opportunity to explore their interests while developing skills that matter in and out of the classroom and preparing to live productive and purposeful lives.

Forging a New Nation

This Initiative aims to facilitate discussions between UR faculty, staff, and students about the many applications of the Declaration of Independence throughout American history and about their relevance to our present moment.

The Translation Initiative supports creative and critical engagements with the theory and practice of translation across UR’s curriculum through intensive support for student and faculty work, and through events and programs that amplify the presence and importance of translation to liberal arts education and life in our global world more broadly.

Humanities Connect

Temporarily Tabled for 25-26

Humanities Connect, an interdisciplinary seminar of UR faculty, advanced students, and a community-based humanist, aims to engage participants around a common theme and foster intellectual exchange and scholarly and creative work across disciplinary, faculty-student, and community-university lines.
